Chemical Plant Operator IV - Tantalum Mining Corporation (Bernic Lake, MB)

Job Summary:

Tantalum Mining Corporation (TANCO) is looking for a Chemical Plant Operator IV to join our team! The Chemical Plant Operator IV is responsible for the operation of the cesium formate and conventional cesium plants including start up, shut down, emergency operation, and all necessary adjustments for efficient operation. Principal Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

  • Chemical Plant Circuit Operation: Management of the chemical plant circuit, including start-up, shut-down, emergency scenarios, and efficiency adjustments.
  • Boiler Operation: Operation of the boiler and its auxiliary equipment.
  • Communication and Coordination: Effective communication with fellow operators during shift changes and collaborative assistance to ensure continuous plant operation.
  • Product Handling: Efficient handling of product loading and raw material offloading, along with regular circuit inspections.
  • Housekeeping Standards: Maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Risk Assessment: Conducting thorough risk assessments before any task to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Adherence to Safety Procedures: Strictly following safety protocols such as Hot Work, Lock Tag & Try, Line Breaking, and Confined Space procedures.
  • Safety Equipment Inspection: Regular inspections of safety equipment like safety showers, boiler safety, emergency lights, and pressure relief valves.

Maintenance and Quality Control:

  • Analytical Testing for Process Control: Carrying out routine analytical tests to monitor and ensure product quality.
  • Sample Collection and Reporting: Collecting Samples routinely while avoiding contamination and reporting any irregularities.
  • Minor Repairs and Maintenance Communication: Identifying malfunctions, performing minor repairs, and clearly communicating maintenance needs.
  • Equipment Preparation for Maintenance: Preparing equipment for maintenance work in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Operational Data Recording: Accurately recording data relevant to the job for effective tracking and analysis of plant performance.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 4th Class Power Engineering Certification

Ability to commute/relocate:

Bernic Lake, MB R0E 1A0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).

License/certification:

Valid Drivers License (required).
