Field Crew Installer - VersaPile

Field Crew Installers are an essential part of the VersaPile experience. The Installer reports to a Site Supervisor or directly to the Assistant Operations Manager. As part of the installation team, the Installer operates heavy machinery and drive units to install helical piles to stated engineering specifications.

The Field Crew Installer ensures crews support equipment arrive at the site promptly and ready to begin the day. Given the scope of equipment and Versapile's fleet of vehicles, a Class 3 License is vital for this role.

Installer General Duties

  • Work 10 hrs days outside.
  • Ensure work vehicles are organized and stocked for the day's work.
  • Load piles on trailers or trucks (must be in good physical condition).
  • Install helical piles with heavy machinery to specifications stated in project shop drawings.
  • Review project plans folders and ensure administrative reporting is completed in full for submission to engineers.
  • Coordinate with their Field Crew Members with dignity and care.
  • Complete additional yard/shop duties when required.
  • Complete any and all safety and inspection forms required.
  • Stay updated on required training required by VersaPile.
  • Travel to any site location within Manitoba & Ontario. Extended overnight work is required.
  • Be eager to learn and grow in their responsibilities.
  • Will be required to drive truck & trailer combinations to job sites (full Class 3 license needed).
  • Complete drivers logs accurately and pre-use checks for vehicles and equipment are documented on the appropriate application or paperwork.
  • Adhere to carrier safety requirements.
  • Any other tasks as directed by the Operations Manager/Assistant Manager.
  • Ensure excellent levels of workmanship on installations.
  • Set and maintain benchmark performances for installations.
  • Contribute towards continuous improvement of existing operational practices and procedures.
  • Follow and champion VersaPile policies and procedures.
  • Perform basic maintenance on vehicle and equipment as required.
  • Communicate with clients and contractors as required.
  • Make productive use of field crew and resources during work hours.

Safety Duties

  • Ensure COR safety standards are maintained at site and on VersaPile property.
  • Adherence to safe working practices and procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring that JHA and DVI checks are completed.
  • Relay necessary safety information and requirements to be actioned (safety equipment needed, safety issue at site, etc.).

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience with skid-steers and excavators.
  • Current Class 3 MB License.
  • Physically Fit, suited for repeatedly lifting items.
  • High School Education.
  • Landscape Machinery operation experience an asset (not required).
