Building strong employer partnerships are at the heart of our mission at Métis Employment & Training (MET) to support the labour market needs of the Red River Métis Nation. Through collaboration with private industry, public sector entities, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions, MET supports the Human Resource needs of employers with a focus on employment for Red River Métis Citizens.

Targeted Wage Subsidy Program (TWS)

  • This initiative fosters sustainable employment by blending on-the-job training with wage subsidies to support workforce re-entry and skill development, enabling Red River Métis job seekers to gain crucial work experience.

Job Opportunities Subsidy (JO)

  • This program assists clients facing employment barriers by combining off-the-job training with practical work experience, enhancing the skills and employability of those with minimal education or work history.

Project Based Training

  • Tailored to meet specific industry needs, this initiative offers customized training and practical work experience for multi-barriered clients, aiming to boost their career exposure and job readiness.

Labour Market Partnerships (LMP)

  • This program encourages cross-sector collaboration for the economic development of the Red River Métis Nation through job fairs, market research, and partnerships that promote job creation and community engagement.

Job Creation Partnerships (JCP)

  • Focused on building practical work experience, this initiative provides short-term, community-based job opportunities by partnering with local organizations, benefiting both individuals and the broader community.

Summer Student Employment Program (SSEP)

  • Designed to prepare Red River Métis youth aged 15-30 for the workforce, this program offers summer job placements that support skill development and enhance future employability, with eligibility requiring full-time student status.
